Lavrov and Rubio discuss preparations for Putin-Trump meeting in Alaska

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation to discuss preparations for the upcoming meeting between the leaders of the two countries, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska, Report informs, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"On August 12, a telephone conversation took place between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The discussion focused on various aspects of preparations for the upcoming meeting on August 15 in Alaska between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump," the ministry stated.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a successful Russian-American summit in Alaska.
