Kremlin declares reason for sending Chief of General Staff to Ukraine

The appointment of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov as the commander of the Joint Forces Group in Ukraine is related to the expansion of the scope of tasks of the special military operation, Russian President's Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs.
He said that fighting continues in the Soledar settlement: "However, the main work is still ahead."
Peskov also spoke about the disappearance of British citizens in the territories occupied by Russia:
"Britain has not officially asked us for help in the search."
