The ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court by the Armenian Parliament can actually be regarded as a ban on the entry of Russian President Vladimir Putin into this country, Konstantin Zatulin, first deputy chairman of the committee of the State Duma for the CIS, said, Report informs.

According to him, who has always been distinguished for his pro-Armenian position, the official Yerevan tries to minimize the importance of the ratification of the Rome Statute and also assures that the provisions of the document will not apply to Russian government officials: "I do not see any prospects for the Russian President's visit to Armenia in the near future, with or without ratification."

According to Zatulin, Yerevan knows that such actions actually mean a ban on entry to Armenia for the Russian leader. He added that Armenia has previously banned RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan, journalist Aram Gabrelyanov, and others from entering the country.
