Kakha Kaladze: Georgia ready to restore ties with US and Europe

The Georgian government is ready to restore relations with the United States and Europe, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said, Report informs.

Kaladze noted that the past three years have been very difficult for Georgia, but the public has gradually come to understand the challenges the country is facing:

"We have repeatedly expressed our readiness to welcome the normalization of relations. All this time, we have defended our interests and our country, and have not allowed anyone to use Georgia for their own purposes. As a result, the people understood everything, supported us, and together we were able to prevent a major disaster for the country."

Tamar Chiburdanidze, a member of the People's Power Party, believes that if US President Donald Trump activates an aggressive policy against the European Union and European countries fight for freedom from American influence, the creation of a new alliance will be inevitable:

"Against the background of these processes, a logical question arises. Are there processes underway to create a new union on the basis of the European Union in the long term?"

Tamar Chiburdanidze noted that after the end of the Ukrainian war, the issue of the European Union will be on Trump's agenda, and this will be a more difficult and intense struggle than ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
