Ivanishvili to nominate Georgian PM

The founder and honorary chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, according to the updated party charter, has received the authority to nominate a candidate for the country’s prime minister, Report informs referring to Georgian media.
According to the new charter, the political council “approves the candidacy of the prime minister of Georgia upon nomination of the honorary chairman of the party.” In addition, by decision of the honorary chairman of the party or political council, an extraordinary party congress may be convened.
The document also states that the political council consists of the honorary chairman of the party and 15 members elected by the party congress.
