Iran studying possibility of strengthening air defense system

“Iran is studying the possibility of strengthening the air defense system at the expense of foreign potential, but so far considers threats to its security ostentatious," Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani said, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

"Iran has always had extensive cooperation with Russia in the defense and security spheres. If the assessments of Iran's defense sector show the need for the S-400, then we will do as we did with the S-300, we will definitely negotiate and make a decision together with our Russian friends," he said and added there is no real threat to the country at present.

According to him, the threats against Iran are ostentatious.

He also stressed that Iran expects other participants of the AGREEMENT to follow its obligations, otherwise Tehran would cut its obligations in the framework of the legal mechanisms established by the agreement.

Earlier, Iran announced that they intend to exceed the ceiling of low-enriched uranium reserves of 300 kilograms provided for by the nuclear deal.
