Despite the complexity and cost involved, relocating Iran's capital from Tehran is quite feasible, according to Seyed Ruhollah Musavi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's Internal Affairs Committee.
Report informs that in an interview with the ILNA news agency, Musavi stated that while the process of moving the capital can be achieved with proper preparation of the new location.
Musavi suggested that it would be logical to move certain ministries closer to their respective companies and production centers. He also proposed that steel industry facilities could be situated nearer to the sea, as they require large quantities of water.
The idea of moving the capital was recently put forth by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who emphasized the need to relocate from Tehran to the Persian Gulf coast. Pezeshkian pointed out that Tehran currently faces problems that cannot be resolved through other means, necessitating the capital's relocation.
