NATO Secretary General: Implementation of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty is Russia's last chance

Baku. 4 January. REPORT.AZ/ Implementation of Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty is the last chance of Russia. Report informs citing the dpa agency, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

“I will not speculate about how likely it is that Russia will come back into compliance. The important thing is that Russia now has a last chance. If Russia does not come back into compliance, well, then we have a big problem because then the INF Treaty is breaking down”, the NATO Secretary General said.

Vladimir Putin said earlier that the new Russian X-101 missiles do not violate the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on December 4 said that Russia has two months to “return to implementation” of the INF Treaty.
