The establishment of the 'no-fly' zone over Ukraine may lead to the Third World War, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told on ARD, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.
It means that the NATO airplanes will target Russian aircraft directly involving the alliance in the conflict, she said.
"We are responsible for the protection of our own population," she said.
Baerbock noted that such moments in foreign policy are similar to choosing between plague and cholera.
