Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili and the country's opposition are preparing for a coup d'état in the country by declaring the parliamentary election results illegitimate, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said at a briefing, Report informs referring to Georgian media.
"This scene was prepared in advance: to declare the results illegitimate, to devise a technical government... all this is a scene of a coup that they are heading towards and thus going against the constitutional order," he said.
He noted that Georgia will not allow such actions.
Earlier, the main opposition parties signed a charter proposed by the president. The document suggests that they will form a technical government if together they receive more votes than the ruling party Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia.
