Georgia starts vaccination with Sinopharm

Georgia added the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine to the coronavirus vaccination process, the local Bureau of Report informs.

The immunization involving this jab will be carried out in 33 medical institutions from today, while from tomorrow, another 44 institutions will join the process.

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director-General of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, got the first shot.

People over 18 can get vaccinated with the Chinese drug. From April 27 to date, 17,613 citizens have registered to shoot Sinopharm.

Notably, on March 15, the neighboring country started the immunization process with Pfizer and AstraZeneca. So far, more than 45,000 people have been vaccinated. Georgia received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm and 100,000 doses of Sinovac from China last month.
