The next hearing in Nika Melia, chairman of the Georgian opposition United National Movement Party (UNMP), will be held on April 29, the local Bureau of Report informs, citing the opposition's lawyer.
According to him, the trial will raise the issue of releasing the chairman of the UNMP on the bail of European Parliament members, and Melia agreed.
Melia is accused of committing group violence during a mass protest before the parliament building in Tbilisi on the night of June 21, 2019. He was arrested on February 23 for refusing to pay bail. The Tbilisi City Court ruled on April 13 to detain him.
