Georgia confirmed eight new cases of a novel coronavirus, pushing the tally to 851 as of June 13, Report informs.

As many as 702 people have recovered from the disease, while 13 others died in the country.

Currently, 3,026 people are in a 14-day mandatory quarantine, while 297 remain under observation in hospitals.

Georgia declared a state of emergency until May 22 to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 213 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
