Turkey - very important regional player, Georgian PM says

"Undoubtedly, Turkey is a very important player in the region. We have very close, friendly and brotherly relations with Turkey," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Imedi TV's "Face to Face" talk-show, Report informs.

Calling Turkey a strategic partner of Georgia, Garibashvili also spoke about his relations with Georgian President Recep Tayyip Erdogan:

"We had many meetings and conversations, both directly and by phone. We have sincere relations."

The prime minister noted that Georgian-Turkish relations should be maintained, strengthened, and deepened: "I spare no effort in this direction, and I am glad that the President of Turkey shows the same attitude."

The prime minister said that it is impossible to develop trade and economic relations and implement energy projects in the region without mediation:

"We have many ambitious plans in this direction. Today, there is a perfect chance to boost these relations."
