Explosion rocks Tupras oil refinery in Türkiye during planned drill

An explosion occurred at the TURPAS oil refinery in Izmit, Türkiye, during a scheduled training exercise, Report informs, citing Türkiye's NTV.

Tahir Buyukakin, the mayor of the metropolitan municipality of Kocaeli, stated, "The explosion took place during planned exercises."

He also noted that there is no information about any casualties resulting from the blast.

According to him, the fire that broke out following the explosion is now under control.
