EU allocates EUR 600 million in aid to Ukraine

On behalf of the EU, the European Commission has today disbursed EUR600 million in macro-financial assistance (MFA) to Ukraine. This is the second and final tranche under Ukraine's current MFA program, following the first EUR600 million disbursements in December 2020.

Report informs, citing foreign media, that with this disbursement, the outstanding amount of loans to Ukraine under its multiple MFA programs reaches EUR4.4 billion.

The disbursement is based on the Commission's positive assessment of the Ukrainian authorities' progress in implementing agreed policy measures under the COVID-19 MFA program relating to public finance management, governance, and the rule of law, improving the business climate, sectoral reforms, and state-owned enterprises.
