Erdogan appoints new minister of national education

According to a decree signed by the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey's Minister of National Education, professor Ziya Selcuk has been released of his duties.

Report informs that Erdogan accepted Selcuk's resignation letter.

By another decree of the head of state, professor Mahmut Ozer was appointed the Minister of National Education. He previously served as deputy minister of education.

Pr. Petek Ashkar, Dr.Sadri Shensoy, and Pr. Ahmet Emre Bilgili were appointed the deputy ministers of education.

Mahmut Ozer was born in Turkey's Tokat on May 5, 1970. In 1992, he graduated from the faculty of Electronics and Information Engineering at the Istanbul Technical University.

In the following years, he continued his education in various universities. On August 8, 2018, he was appointed as Deputy Minister of Education.
