Dozens of police officers were injured as a result of clashes with protesters during the May 1 protest in Türkiye, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on the social network X, Report informs.
According to him, on May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day in Türkiye, a total of 210 events were organized in 78 provinces across our country by political parties, unions and non-governmental organizations.
He added that approximately 241,0000 people attended events such as rallies, marches, press releases and wreath-laying.
The minister also said that a total of 226 people, including 217 in Istanbul, 4 in Tunceli, 3 in Kahramanmaras and 2 in Aydin, who held demonstrations in unauthorized areas, did not obey warnings and attacked the police, were detained.
“28 of our security guards were slightly injured during the incidents,” Yerlikaya noted.
