According to the agreement on grain export from Ukraine, demining will not be carried out, a senior UN official said, Report informs, citing TASS.

"We decided it would be more efficient to use safe corridors, which the Ukrainian side will determine. Ukrainian pilots will escort these vessels," he added.

The grain agreement includes a renunciation of attacks on port facilities specified in the agreement.

"The agreement says that the parties will not attack ships with grain, other civilian ships and port facilities related to the implementation of the agreement," he said.

Starting grain exports from Ukraine after the signing of the agreement will take several weeks, a senior UN official said.

The interlocutor noted that time is required for the parties to complete the Joint Coordination Center, form groups for conducting inspections and prepare for the export of grain in Ukrainian ports. He noted that it is necessary to be in time for a new harvesting campaign in Ukraine when the granaries should be emptied for a new crop.

The UN official said that the term of the grain agreement signed in Istanbul is 120 days with the possibility of extension.

According to him, following the agreement, the export of grain through safe corridors from three Ukrainian ports will amount to about 5 million tons per month.

Representatives of Russia, Turkiye, Ukraine and the UN will monitor ships exporting grain from Ukraine as part of the work of the Joint Coordination Center.
