Report informs citing IRNA that spokesperson for Iran's Health Ministry Kiyanush Jahanpur said that the number of people who died from COVID-19 reached 3,452.

According to Jahanpur, 2,560 people were infected with coronavirus, and the coronavirus cases reached 55,743.

At the same time, 19,736 people have recovered, 4,103 people are in critical condition.

23 MPs, as well as parliament speaker Ali Larijani, the first Vice-President Ishag Jahangiri, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani, Deputy Minister of Health Iraj Harirchi, Vice-President Masoumeh Ebtekar, top advisor of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati, head of the National Disaster Management Organization Ismail Najjar, former Minister of Justice Mustafa Purmahammadi were infected with the coronavirus.

Moreover, MP Fatima Rahbar, former ambassador of Iran to Vatican Hadi Khosrowshahi, a member of the Expediency Council Seyed Mohammad Mirmohammadi, advisor to the foreign minister Hossein Sheikholeslam, member of Assembly of Experts Sayyid Hashim Bathayi died from coronavirus.

MP Zohreh Elahian and Deputy Minister of Health Iraj Harirchi have recovered.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 205 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
