CIS foreign ministers to discuss US withdrawal from INF Treaty in April

Baku. 11 February. REPORT.AZ/ The topic of the US withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty is scheduled to be discussed at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries, which will be held on April 5 in Moscow.

Report informs citing the RIA Novosti that this was stated by the permanent representative of Russia at the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth Andrei Grozov.

"Yes, this topic (the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty - Ed.) is indeed relevant now in matters of ensuring strategic stability and security in our area from the Atlantic to the Urals. This topic will most likely be discussed at the Council of Foreign Ministers ... where our partners will communicate Russian arguments, our concerns, " Grozov said.

Notably, US has suspended its participation in the INF Treaty since February 2, explaining it by the 'substantial violations' from the Russian side.
