Cevdet Yılmaz: Türkiye sharply reduces foreign dependency in defense industry

Türkiye's dependence on foreign countries in the defense industry has decreased sharply, Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz said, Report informs.
While speaking at the opening ceremony of the research centers of the Middle East Technical University, the vice president stated that this indicator is currently lower than 20 percent.
"However, 20 years ago, our dependence on foreign countries in the defense industry was 80 percent. Decreasing dependence on other countries is also of particular importance in terms of security,” Yilmaz added.
