Cavusoglu says Turkiye wants Sweden and Finland to cut ties with terrorists

Turkiye's position on Sweden and Finland's membership in NATO is concrete, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with his Romanian and Polish counterparts, Report informs.

He said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed Ankara's position to the leaders of both Finland and Sweden.

"Turkiye has always supported NATO's open-door policy. Our protest is related to the support of terrorist organizations in those countries. We understand the concerns of Finland and Sweden, but everyone must respect our security measures.

"It is not right to think that they will make us change our position over time. It is not impossible to implement our demands. We do not want any country to change its name, just want those countries to cut ties with terrorists," Cavusoglu noted.
