Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York, Report informs via Anadolu.

During the meeting at the Lotte Palace Hotel, the officials exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.

The Turkish minister, anticipating the talks, said that he planed to discuss with his American counterpart the war between Russia and Ukraine, the tension on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, and the situation in Syria.

Blinken, for his part, called Turkiye a US ally in NATO, noting that the two countries are making efforts to get out of many complex issues.

The Secretary of State emphasized the importance of the "grain agreement", expressing gratitude to Ankara for its contribution to the achievement of these agreements.

The meeting continued behind closed doors for about half an hour.
