Cavusoglu: 'After elections, main direction of our foreign policy course will be initiative'

After the elections, the main direction of the foreign policy course will be initiative, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the press conference held on May 18, Report informs.

Recalling his meeting in Moscow 4 days before the presidential and parliamentary elections, the minister explained the main issue on the agenda at that meeting.

He said that the main topic in the quadrilateral meeting held jointly with the foreign ministers of Russia, Syria, and Iran was the discussion of the situation in Syria. The FM emphasized that the successful fight against terrorist organizations helps to ensure stability in Syria.

"Even on the eve of the elections, Türkiye is thinking about stability in the world. We continue to mediate between Ukraine and Russia. Crimean Tatars and Meskhetian Turks closely monitor our position on Ukraine," he added.
