Turkmenistan has suspended the broadcasting of Russian channels Russia 1 and Zvezda TV affiliated with the Defense Ministry.
They were broadcast by Ashgabat City Telephone Network, Turkmenistan's largest licensed telecommunications operator.
Other Russian TV channels, including Channel One Russia, RenTV, NTV, STS, TNT, Che, Match TV, and others, continue to broadcast.
In Turkmenistan, watching foreign TV channels is possible only on cable and IPTV provided by a local operator.
Earlier, a local operator in the Kyrgyz Republic stopped broadcasting Russian TV channels.
