Brawl breaks out in Armenian parliament

The situation in the Armenian parliament got tense.

Report informs, citing Armenian media, that Armenian parliament speaker Alen Simonyan called the security officers to take opposition 'With Honor' Faction lawmaker Anna Mkrtchyan out of the hall.

Mkrtchyan did not address the prime minister during her speech but began to list Pashinyan's mistake instead.

The pro-government MPs, in their turn, started reacting to Mkrtchyan's statement. Mkrtchyan called them the supporters of the 'defeatist.' After that, Alen Simonyan first switched off her microphone and, after yet another scuffle, asked her to leave the hall.

The MP refused, and Simonyan called the security officers. Members of the 'Armenia' and 'With Honor' blocs surrounded Mkrtchyan to prevent the security officers from approaching her.

A recess was announced. After it, a brawl broke out between a group of MPs and the security officers. Some MPs chanted 'Nikol is a traitor,' while members of the ruling party responded to them.
