Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Education plans to launch a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) project in Georgia, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev said at a meeting with members of the Azerbaijani community, Report’s Georgian bureau informs.
He said that this issue was discussed during the official visit of Education Minister Emin Amrullayev to Georgia in February this year.
The ambassador noted that the project is planned to be implemented in a short time: “For the implementation of the STEAM project, the Marneuli district was chosen, where our compatriots compactly live. The main goal is the formation of modern skills among the Azerbaijani youth of Georgia.”
The STEAM teaching method is based on the idea of joint and integrated teaching of students in five areas: science, technology, engineering, art and math. Azerbaijan since 2019 has been applying an advanced training model with the support of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva. In 2021, STEAM covered 302 public schools and 10 STEAM centers.
