"Any attempt to undermine the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan will not yield any results," the local Bureau of Report quotes Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.
Commenting on the reports about the delivery of weapons to Armenia through Georgia's territory, the FM said: "We have excellent relations with Azerbaijan. We are strategic partners. Any attempt to damage relations between the two countries will not work."
Earlier, Salome Samadashvili, a member of Georgia's opposition party United National Movement has demanded a statement from the country's Foreign Ministry over the information spread by the Azerbaijani media.
According to the MP, if the information reflects the truth, then Georgia has violated international obligations: "The news spread by the Azerbaijani media about the delivery of weapons to Armenia through Georgia's territory is disconcerting. According to Georgia's international commitments, military cargo cannot be handled through the country. We urge the Foreign Ministry to clarify this issue before the public. "
