Armenian speaker rules out holding early parliamentary elections

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, has ruled out the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections in the country, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.
Speaking at a briefing, he noted that such proposals were first voiced only recently by an opposition figure.
"Imagine-four and a half years have passed, just eight months remain until the elections, and the opposition is only now starting to talk about early elections," Simonyan emphasized.
According to him, the reason is simple: the opposition is not prepared for such a move. "All of its members clearly understand that they would lose and fail to enter parliament," he added.
