Armenian Parliament to convene at special meeting for electing new PM

The issue of electing a new prime minister of Armenia after the resignation of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan will be considered on May 3 at a special session of the parliament, according to the press service of the country’s parliament, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The issue of electing the prime minister will be considered on May 3 at a special meeting of the National Assembly,” the message says.

Pashinyan announced on April 25 that he was resigning in order to hold early parliamentary elections in Armenia.

Until the elections, he will continue to serve as head of the Cabinet of Ministers. Following Pashinyan, the government of the country also resigned as part of the technical procedure. Pashinyan has already announced that he will run as a candidate for the post of head of government from the Civil Contract party.
