Armenia confirmed 771 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 22,488, Report says, citing the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the country.

According to it, 11,335 people have recovered. The number of active cases stands for 10, 625.

The total death toll reached 397, as 11 patients fell victim to the virus.

Armenia extended a state of emergency over the coronavirus outbreak until July 13, as the number of daily infections continues to rise.

Despite the extension of the state of emergency, almost all sectors of the Armenian economy are functioning after businesses reopened in early May to prevent it from collapsing.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 9,361,000 globally, resulting in more than 5,048,000 recoveries and over 479,000 deaths.
