Armenia considers it possible to conclude a peace treaty with Azerbaijan in the near future, head of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the Armenian Parliament, Sargis Khandanyan told a briefing, Report informs via TASS.
He noted that the joint statement of the Administration of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the office of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan creates a positive background for this.
"We always consider it likely that a peace treaty will be signed, because we are constructive. It should be noted that the adoption of this statement can have a positive effect, since the text of the statement contains at least positive language, which can contribute to a smoother course of further negotiations," Khandanyan said.
