"The epidemiological situation in Georgia has deteriorated, and we see a growing number of coronavirus cases," said chief epidemiologist Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
According to him, the peak period of the pandemic is expected in late April, in the first two weeks of May.
Georgia has recorded a total of 299,038 cases of coronavirus infection since the pandemic began. To date, 282,869 of them have recovered, while 3,971 have died.
