As a result of Russia's war in Ukraine, 223 children have died and 408 have received bullet or shrapnel injuries, Report informs, citing the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
The total number of injured children since the beginning of the Russian invasion has reached 631.
The children were mostly affected in Donetsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia regions, and Kyiv, Sumy and Zhytomyr cities.
According to the prosecutor's office, the figures are expected to be higher since 'it is hard to establish them in sites of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and newly liberated territories.
As a result of daily bombardment and shelling by Russian forces, over 1,608 educational institutions have been damaged, 121 of which are completely destroyed.
