In Tajikistan, airports for local airlines have been transferred from the ownership of cities and regions to the balance of the country’s Ministry of Defense, Report informs via Tajik media.
The government of Tajikistan adopted the relevant decree on the transfer. According to the resolution, the Ministry of Defense will receive a total of 18 airports for local airlines. These are 4 airports in the Khatlon region, 4 in the regions of republican subordination, 5 in the Sughd and 5 in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
The document says that the ministry will have to restore them.
Currently, flights are operated only from four international airports - Dushanbe, Khujand, Bokhtar and Kulob.
