Xi Jinping has been unanimously elected president of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the PRC at the ongoing session of the 14th National People’s Congress, Report informs referring to Xinhua.
Some 2,952 people took part in the voting.
The re-election of Xi Jinping, who will turn 70 in June, became possible after the amendments to the Chinese Constitution in 2018: now the same person can hold the post of head of state an unlimited number of times.
In October, after the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping was also re-elected for a third term as General Secretary of the China Communist Party Central Committee.
