White House: US to continue assistance to Ukraine even in case of default

The US, even in the event of a default, will retain the ability to provide assistance to Ukraine until the end of the current financial year at the expense of already allocated funds, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House John Kirby said at a briefing, Report informs.

He noted that funds to support Ukraine were allocated by Congress last year.

The US is still meeting these allocations and is expected to be able to continue to do so until the end of this fiscal year, Kirby added.
