US Senate rejects proposal to end shutdown

Baku. 25 January. REPORT.AZ/ The US Senate did not approve the proposal of the President Donald Trump to end the so-called "shutdown", lasting for already more than a month.

Report informs citing the foreign press that the vote did not pass the initiative of the Democratic party. No document received the required 60 votes during the voting.

Nearly 800,000 Federal employees were left without paychecks due to shutdown. The shutdown affected the Departments of Interior, Security, Transportation. Justice, as well as the US Department of State, and the FBI.

According to CNN, in this regard, the White house is preparing a bill for US President Donald Trump which envisages declaring a state of emergency in the country, along with the southern border. If the decision on the state of emergency comes into force, the Trump administration intends to allocate $ 7 billion for the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico. The channel notes that if Trump introduces a state of emergency, Democrats can challenge him in court.
