US says Iran and Hezbollah may attack Israel on August 8-9

The United States is bracing for retaliatory actions from Iran and the Lebanese movement Hezbollah following the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on August 8-9, according to Report, which cites Al Arabiya.

Initial assessments predicted an attack earlier in the week, but the latest intelligence suggests that any response might be delayed until Thursday evening or Friday, the information says.

US officials are reportedly "trying to determine the form of Iran's response" and questioning whether it will include a coordinated strike with Hezbollah or other groups in Iraq or Yemen.
