Drones of unknown origin, undetected by security, have filmed in detail the Japanese helicopter carrier Izumo, the US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan and other warships located at the Yokosuka naval base south of Tokyo, according to the Nikkei newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.

The Japanese Ministry of Defense analyzed the images and practically verified their authenticity. Of particular concern was that a camera-equipped drone flew unhindered directly over the deck of the helicopter carrier Izumo, potentially posing a direct threat to its safety.

Since 2016, Japan has banned drone flights over important sites, including military bases. There are restricted zones around them with a radius of 300 meters.
