The UN General Assembly is holding an emergency session on the issue of Palestine's full membership in the organization.
According to the American bureau of Report, the draft resolution is being discussed in the UN General Assembly by permanent representatives of 109 countries of the organization.
The document spells out the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the creation of a state, and the UN Secretary General is called upon to take the necessary steps to implement the resolution.
The vote on the resolution will be held today. For full membership, Palestine must receive a two-thirds yes vote.
Palestine applied for full membership in the UN in 2011, but then it did not receive the necessary support.
