Allegations against 12 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) are being investigated, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said at a briefing, the US bureau of Report informs.

He noted that the UN is taking comprehensive measures to ensure that the investigation is carried out as quickly and effectively as possible.

Following extremely serious allegations against several UNRWA staff members, the UN took urgent action and, in this regard, the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) immediately launched investigation. Any personnel involved in terror attacks will be held accountable, including criminal prosecution, he added.
