Trump: US resolves 37-year conflict between Azerbaijan, Armenia

The United States has successfully resolved the 37-year-long conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, US President Donald Trump announced at a press conference, Report informs.

Trump emphasized the significance of the breakthrough: “The conflict lasted for 37 years. Both leaders said they never believed it could be resolved. Russia tried to solve the problem. The situation was complex, but we succeeded,” he stated.

On August 8, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration in Washington, mediated by US President Donald Trump.

According to the declaration, the parties initialed a previously agreed draft of a peace treaty aimed at establishing peace and restoring relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. They also signed a memorandum on lifting communication blockades.
