Stoltonberg says Sweden, Finland must fulfill Turkiye's demand

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg hopes to achieve an agreement on Finland's and Sweden's membership in NATO before the alliance's summit in Madrid in late June this year, Report informs, citing TASS.

Stoltenberg said when an ally raises a problem, it must be resolved, and this is what was always done.

He reminded that no country had faced so many terrorist attacks as Turkiye did.

The NATO chief added that the PKK is on the EU's list of terrorist organizations.

He said his goal is to make this process faster.

Finland and Sweden can participate in the NATO summit in Madrid as guests, but it will be difficult for them to fix their aspirations as countries candidates for the alliance members if they do not meet Turkiye's demand before June 28.
