Spain to mitigate mask requirement for enclosed spaces

The Spanish government today approved a decision mitigating the mask requirement imposed in the country due to the pandemic.

The decision will come into force on April 20, according to a message posted on the Cabinet's Twitter, Report informs, citing TASS.

Until now, residents of the kingdom have been required to wear masks indoors in all public places, including shops, cafes, restaurants or schools.

A strict mask regime was introduced in the country almost two years ago.

"The Council of Ministers approves the end of the mandatory [wearing] of masks indoors from April 20," the statement said. Despite the decision of the government, as of Wednesday, the masks will still have to be worn in hospitals, nursing homes, as well as on public transport.
