According to the conclusions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, the Samarkand Declaration will be adopted, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Min said during an interview before the summit to be held in Samarkand on September 15-16.
"The Samarkand Declaration will become a comprehensive political declaration on the position of the SCO on international politics, economy, and several other aspects," he said.
According to Min, the organization's plan for 2023-2027 and the Belt and Road Initiative will be discussed at this year's summit.
Leaders of SCO member states, three observer states - Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia, as well as three invited states - Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Turkiye - will participate in the summit, which will be held in person for the first time in the last three years.
Although Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was expected to participate in the event, his visit was canceled on September 14.
