Pentagon to buy AMRAAM missiles as part of assistance to Ukraine

The US has signed a contract with Raytheon Missiles and Defense to supply AMRAAM missiles as part of the Ukraine aid budget, Report informs referring to the press service of the Pentagon.

The contract provides for the purchase of missiles from various sources and is valid until November 29, 2024.

From the Ukraine Security Assistance Package for Fiscal Year 2023, funds in the amount of $7.7 million will be allocated for the implementation of this contract.

AMRAAM is a US medium-range supersonic all-weather air-to-air guided missile. Missiles of this type are designed to destroy air targets beyond the line of sight of the target.
