Pakistan, Qatar working to bring US, Iran back to talks

Pakistan and Qatar are working to bring the United States and Iran back to the negotiating table, Report informs via CNN.

In the evening of July 8, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry called on the parties to show restraint and refrain from actions that could further undermine regional peace and stability. It also urged them to fulfill their commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.

Overnight on July 8, the United States and Iran exchanged strikes, hitting 80 to 85 military targets on each side. US President Donald Trump then announced the end of the ceasefire regime with Iran, saying the memorandum of understanding with Tehran was no longer in effect.

US Central Command also said that during the latest wave of strikes, the US military hit around 90 Iranian targets, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval forces and military logistics infrastructure along Iran's coast.

Trump told reporters he was not sure whether a new agreement with Iran was necessary.
