“We have stopped the Russian army and are gradually pushing the occupiers out of our land, but would we have had to do this if the world had listened to us and imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation last year?” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his video speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Report informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.

“Brute force seeks nothing but subjugation. And it does not discuss, but kills, as Russia does in Ukraine... Russia has become a state of war crimes,” the president of Ukraine said.

He noted that history remembers many moments when it changed dramatically: “Historical turns were noticeable and not very noticeable, but they always had to be reacted to. Now we have a large collection of reactions (of the UN, OSCE, IAEA, WTO), but are they enough? It is necessary to change the approach, create new tools.”

The economic forum in Davos, which started May 22, will be held for the first time in 35 years without the participation of Russian representatives. In total, more than 2,500 people will take part in the events, including almost 50 world leaders. The WEF meeting will be held under the motto “A Turning Point in History: Public Policy and Business Strategies.”
